Photo Diary: A Visit to Miami’s Wynwood District

As part of the application process for the US Customs and Border Protection’s Global Entry Program, we had to attend an in-person interview at one of their Enrollment Centers.  None of the airports near us had weekend hours, and the thought of sacrificing a vacation day to visit during the week didn’t sit well, so we took the opportunity to visit Miami, FL for a weekend.

On our way out of the city, we visited the Wynwood district, just north of downtown Miami.  Within the past few years, this part of the city has grown into a major arts district; probably the best-known location in the area is the Wynwood Walls, free and open to the public.

Outside the exhibit and around the area you’ll find a lot of other murals and street art (and maybe a chicken).

And maybe if you’re lucky, you’ll get an incredible loaf of sourdough from Zak the Baker as a souvenir from your visit to Wynwood.
