2017 Holiday Gift Guide: Stocking Stuffer Travel Gifts

A graphic that reads "stocking stuffer travel gifts under $15"

The holiday season is here in full force. Stores are currently taking over our mailboxes and email-boxes trying to convince us that we need everything and if we don’t get it right now it may not be available any longer and the world will end. To avoid this intentionally created stress, I’ve unsubscribed myself from most email lists and I quickly sort my mail when I return home from work. I avoid shopping in person, as I have to muster all of my strength to simply walk in the door of a store. More and more I’m ordering my holiday gifts online, even small things like stocking stuffers, to avoid having to physically place myself into the chaos.

This post is not sponsored but contains affiliate links, and I may receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking one of these links (at no cost to you!). Thank you for considering using these links for your holiday shopping - I couldn't do this without your support!

With that in mind, I’ve come up with a few ideas to fill stockings, all available online, without breaking the bank. Everything you see here is USD 15 or less at the time of publication!

TRAVEL-THEMED STOCKING STUFFER GIFTS

L'Occitane Hand and Body Ornament Set
L’Occitane Hand and Body Ornament

How cute is the packaging that comes with this hand and body set from French brand L’Occitane en Provence*? The included soap bar is the perfect size for a short trip, and their hand lotion is some of the most moisturizing I’ve found.

Two French mesh bags
French Filet Bag

I saw one of these French filet bags on nearly every shoulder at the neighborhood markets in France. They roll up so nice and small and weigh next to nothing. These traditional versions are my favorite, and I love tucking mine into my purse for an impromptu produce purchase.

Three city skyline rings in different metals
City Skyline Rings*

These city skyline rings, found on Etsy*, would be a perfect gift for your beloved fellow traveler. There are many cities offered, and perhaps you could tuck a homemade card in with it, telling all about your next planned surprise trip to that destination.

A bundle of Kiehl's products
Kiehl’s Travel Essentials*

I love anything Kiehl’s (I buy their Creme de Corps by the liter), and I always find the best prices on their products around the holidays. These travel-sized items* are the perfect size for a two-week getaway!

Grey trail socks
Merino Trail Socks*

These merino trail socks* from United by Blue helped us keep the feeling in our toes in 0° F weather in Montreal earlier this year. These socks are made of substantial material, and you can feel even better about your purchase, as a pound of trash is removed from the ocean for every product purchased. They are the perfect height for wearing under mid-calf boots and also look cute scrunched with ankle boots. They’re also great for wearing under trousers to help block the chill.

a travel candle in a tin
Travel Candle Tin

It doesn’t take much to help a budget hotel room feel a little cozier. Many find comfort in lighting candles (so hygge!), and a small candle such as this one from Madewell can make a world of  difference without taking up much luggage space. This is the perfect opportunity to use that book of safety matches from your favorite restaurant!

A set of Marvis toothpastes
Marvis Toothpaste Set

We nearly always pick up a few tubes of Marvis toothpaste in Europe to give as souvenirs as well as a few tubes for ourselves. Happily, they are available here in the States, too, and with lots of flavors available!

The carry on cocktail kit
Carry On Cocktail Kit

For those of legal drinking age, this Carry On Cocktail Kit can make a trip in coach seem a little more glamorous! They’ll need to purchase their own bourbon from a flight attendant, but all of the other necessities for an Old Fashioned are included in this mini case. Just be sure to tuck it inside a quart-sized bag to get through security without any hassle!

Gold pens
Modern Pen Set*

This pen is both modern and classic all at once. I always tuck a couple of pens in my luggage and my purse for writing postcards, journaling, and any time I need to sign a receipt. These pens are both slim and stylish with a price that won’t make you worry if you lose them. You likely won’t, though, since they’re so eye-catching!

Three multi use charging cords
3-in-1 USB Cord*

By now you probably have some sort of backup charger for your cell phone and tablet (I have two – one that is portable, and one that is mounted into my Away suitcase), but if you’re traveling with more than one type of device, you may still be wrangling with several cords. This 3-in-1 cord set is compact and includes a USB-C, micro USB, and Apple Lightning charger all on one cord. With a set of three of these multi-cords, you can easily gift one to everyone in your family!

A tin of travel face towels
Travel Face Towels*

Technically, these are face towels for shaving, but I use these Travel Face Towels* as disposable washcloths when there are none provided. Each small capsule swells to the size of a washcloth for a quick shower. Though they can really only be used once, the tin is so small you can take these anywhere.
