Happy Weekend, everyone! I hope you had a lovely week – Summer is flying isn’t it?

This weekend we are in Jacksonville, Florida, and relishing every insult The Good Place threw its way (I can say that because I was born here – oh, and we’re so looking forward to season three. And if you haven’t seen it, just go watch it; we’ll still be here). We’re having a great time, enjoying lots of food and coffee, and we’re even taking a surfing lesson!

Other than looking up things to do in Jacksonville, here’s what else we’ve been checking out online:

Food

This pizza news is disheartening, but don’t let it get you down! We’ve achieved pretty great results by starting our pies in a cast iron pan on the stove and finishing in a 500°F oven (and then the broiler, if needed).

I’m so stoked for this cookbook from one of my favorite Nordic food bloggers. Is it October yet?

I love ice cream and am happy to try the oddball flavors at least once (even the Viagra-flavored gelato we found at a shop in Rome – the man behind the counter said it would make us strong), but I may have to draw the line at this flavor, offered at a shop in Scotland.

Travel

A good article on how not to let your phone ruin your vacation. Sometimes we need a reminder, too.

Traveling solo? I’ve never done it before (though I wouldn’t be against trying it one day if needed!), but here are some tips if you’re venturing out into the world alone.

Life

An almost-zero waste move. I’m impressed! Despite making strides, I’m still struggling with waste and options for reducing it.

What are your thoughts on the Hikidashi Boxes from organization maven Marie Kondo? I’m sure these spark joy for some but I don’t think the $90 price tag would spark joy for me…

The concept of proplifting is absolutely fascinating, but it would be pointless in my case (I tend to keep my plants on their toes, wondering if this is the week they will meet their death).

Style

This packing list from down under makes me want to reach for my cashmere (I could almost justify it as my office is positively frigid, but I think I’d die on the way in from my car).

I was stoked for this Tencel jumpsuit from Grana (that burgundy…) when I received the email, but the button ruins it for me. Why not face the button inward? (if it is your jam though, here’s 10% off your first order)

Things I bought this week

A collage of silk tops, striped tees, a dress, and jeans
Clockwise, Top Left | Silk Long-Sleeve Blouse, Everlane* | GoWeave Tank Wrap Dress, Everlane | Astral Top, Elizabeth Suzann (no longer available) | The Heavyweight Tee, Everlane | Cone Denim Jeans, Gap | The Cotton Relaxed Tank, Everlane |

Lots of Everlane this week – I’m still trying to use up some credit from past returns. I’m excited about the relaxed tank and the cami dress; I’m wary of the silk top* after the way the button-down fit me and also expect the heavyweight tee to not fit my frame the way I’d like, but I’m giving them a shot! The Gap denim* is on this list because it is made here in the States. Fingers crossed these fit, as they are on a super-duper sale right now. Unexpectedly, I won a drawing on the SellTradeES Instagram to purchase the Astral Top, a style I’ve long admired but is no longer available. I think white would have been my first preference, but if I don’t love the color or the way this fits I’m content knowing that I can relist for about the same price. I also placed an order via Amazon Prime Wardrobe (reviewed here), but sent it all back and am waiting on the next shipment. Reporting back from past weeks, the Only Child Alta Top arrived and it’s just a bit too wide for my frame (I guess in the flurry of the sample sale I misread the page). I may see what my tailor can do, otherwise, it will go up for sale on the STSF Instagram. I also received a remake of the T Top from Jamie and the Jones and this time it’s in the correct length! I love it and look forward to traveling with it. Question, though – if you own one, what type of jacket do you wear over it?

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read on the web this week? And please feel free to share any surfing tips because I’m so nervous.
