If you’ve been reading here for a long time, then you might be aware that I’ve been on a mission to simplify my wardrobe for several years. I started by editing my belongings to just my very favorites, and since then I’ve slowly cultivated a closet that contains high-quality, versatile pieces that will stand the test of time. Essentially – I spend a lot of time considering a purchase beforehand so that I can spend no time at all trying to figure out what to wear each day.

Over the years I’ve struggled to find the perfect warm-weather wedding guest shoe – a shoe that not only goes with all of my formal and cocktail dresses but one that I won’t feel like kicking off halfway through a reception. A few nude-to-me flats and sandals passed through my wardrobe, only to discover that after a few hours of wear, they didn’t feel as comfortable as they seemed, or what appeared to be stitching was actually just glue that didn’t hold up.

We all know the best time to shop for something is before we need it, so when Sarah Flint reached out to me to invite me to join as a Brand Ambassador, I knew exactly what gap I wanted to fill in my wardrobe with a pair of her beautiful Italian-made shoes.

Disclosure: I received these shoes as a member of the former Brand Ambassador program from Sarah Flint, however, all opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links and I may receive a small commission if you purchase something after clicking one of these links.

I weighed out a few different options on the Sarah Flint site, like the Perfect Emma, the Perfect Sandal 85, and the ever-popular Natalie before landing on the Perfect Block Sandal 30.

Unlike some of Sarah Flint’s more glamorous options, the Perfect Block Sandal 30 doesn’t loudly announce its entrance – instead, it quietly slips into the room, letting the rest of your outfit shine. That is until you start to notice the little details that make it stand out.

Like the fact that the shoe reads as a heel, but with just a 30mm inset block heel, it feels like a flat. Or the intriguing straps that wrap around the ankle and down to cup your heel. And of course, the impeccably straight and even stitching.

However, those are just things that others might notice – only the wearer will feel the arch support cradling their instep, the wiggle room in the wider toe box, and the slim layer of padding underfoot.

This shoe is clearly designed for dancing all night long during the summer wedding season – but that’s not the only setting these shoes are destined for. Today I’m sharing three ways to style the Perfect Block Sandal 30beyond the wedding guest outfit.

Styling the Perfect Block Sandal for the Office

So long as your office allows open-toe shoes, these are an easy choice for a weekday morning. Here I’ve paired them with two ultra-femme pieces: a fluttery top and a waist-nipping paper-bag pant. I’m no longer in an office daily, but this is a look I’d wear both on a random Tuesday or during an important meeting. Though this look is ready to work, I think it would fit in just fine at the neighborhood cocktail bar once 5 o’clock rolls around…

Styling the Perfect Block Sandal for the Weekend

My style these days leans a bit more casual than it once did (though who knows – the pendulum could swing back the other way one day), but thankfully the Perfect Block Sandal takes on a somewhat utilitarian form when paired with jeans. The proportions of this look feel modern, but the t-shirt and jeans pairing is truly a classic. The blazer shows you mean business (but only like, a little bit of business), and the sandal’s warm neutral color adds a bit of softness to a high-contrast look. I’ve worn this look more than once, and I won’t be stopping any time soon.

Styling the Perfect Block Sandal for Date Night

The fun thing about date night is that you can dress it up or down depending on your mood (and destination). Ever one to keep things real around here, I wore this look on a date night with Michael. We started our evening browsing priceless works of art at one of Charlotte’s world-class museums – and ended the night at a 24-hour diner. Maybe this look is a little much for late-night pancakes, but life is short, you know?
