2018 Holiday Gift Guide: Gifts for the Luxe Traveler

Welcome to my 2018 Gift Guide Series! Each day this week I’ll be sharing a small, carefully curated selection of items for a targeted audience or a specific price point, all with the theme of travel. Though I’ll always advocate for taking a trip over giving tangible items, I understand that many families still feel that tug at their heartstrings to wrap gifts to exchange with loved ones (mine included). The items here have been selected for their aesthetics and functionality, as I hold a personal belief that the best gifts have both. And as always, I’ll only ever share items that I own or would own, promise.

This gift guide is geared toward the luxe traveler, yes, but you won’t find sets of Louis Vuitton luggage or flights on private jets here. This list is full of understated, everyday luxury items – all priced under $1,000. A high price tag, yes, but each of the items below is an elevated take on a classic item for the traveler who values quality and who buys items to keep for life.

Why these items

Elegant Satin Scrunchie | Scrunchies are back in style for wearing out of the house, but they’ve always been the best choice for wearing around the house and while in transit. Satiny-silk fabric is not just for bringing luxury to their daily life, but it also is a great way to prevent lumps after wear and strand breakage.

Priority Pass | Few gifts are more luxurious than time, and the Priority Pass is a great way to achieve that. With a Priority Pass subscription, your recipient will have access to over 1,200 lounge locations all over the world, enriching any time spent at the airport with free WiFi, snacks, and beverages.

Travel Steamer | There are few fates worse for a garment than a hotel iron. A garment steamer is a much gentler alternative and is more space-efficient in a hotel room, too. This one from Steamery looks sleek and modern and heats up in 25 seconds.

Travel Set* | This lounge set is perfect for spa getaways, ski lodges, or just walking down the hall in your hotel to get ice. The light-packer will appreciate having a mesh laundry bag handy, too.

Advent Calendar* | December has already begun, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a recipient who would be disappointed in this luxurious advent calendar. Each of the 25 boxes is filled with mini candles and travel-sized products they can use throughout their next year of travel.

Charmeuse Sleep Set | Silk for sleep is tough to beat, and this set is effortlessly beautiful.

Shawl Coat* | This is the ethical shopper’s dream coat right here. Made of dreamy, soft, light alpaca it would be the perfect garment to cozy up in on the airplane and shut out the rest of the world.

Aluminum Carry-On Suitcase | Away made their crowd-favorite carry-on (hello from a member of the crowd!) in a sturdy aluminum frame with cool clasps instead of a zipper. Unlike most other cases that will look worse for wear, this is a bag that will only look better with age (plus, you can save $20 on your first order when you sign up here).

Flying Quadcopter* | Get the perfect snap for the ‘gram with this foldable drone. You’ll have plenty of time to capture the shot that will make you stand out with up to 27 minutes of flying time. Just be sure to check local regulations before you fly!

  1. Nice blog! Is your theme custom made or did you
download it from somewhere? A design like yours with a few simple tweeks would really make my blog shine.
Please let me know where you got your theme. Thanks
