2018 Holiday Gift Guide: Travel Gifts for Her

Holding gift behind back

Welcome to my 2018 Gift Guide Series!

Each day this week I’ll be sharing a small, carefully curated selection of items for a targeted audience or a specific price point, all with the theme of travel. Though I’ll always advocate for taking a trip over giving tangible items, I understand that many families still feel that tug at their heartstrings to wrap gifts to exchange with loved ones (mine included).

The items here have been selected for their aesthetics and functionality, as I hold a personal belief that the best gifts have both. And as always, I’ll only ever share items that I own or would own, promise.

Let’s get started, shall we?

TRAVEL GIFTS FOR HER

Top | Travel Wallet* | Wool Sneaker | Gift Box
Middle | Homeshare Gift Card | Driving Gloves* | Silk Headband*
Bottom Row | Raw Diamond Ring | "Emergency" Kit | Convertible Shirt Dress

Why these items?

Travel Wallet* |  It’s large, yes, but this Spanish leather wallet will also hold everything she would need for travel in one place (even a cell phone, as demonstrated by the video on the product listing). The result? No more digging around for a passport or ID card in the security line while disgruntled passengers look on.

Wool Sneakers | Find out her shoe size and order one of these cult Merino wool sneakers. The sneaker trend is still going strong, and these should fit in just about anywhere, plus the moisture-wicking and odor-repellant properties of Merino make them an excellent choice for travel in all climates.

Gift Box | Provide your gift recipient with a collapsible water bottle and lunchbox while also providing eighteen meals to schoolchildren in need. In addition to the do-good nature of this gift that gives back, I really appreciate that the water bottle is plastic-free.

Homeshare Gift Card | This item will likely appear on one of my gift guides annually because it’s the answer I’m most likely to give when someone asks what I would like for Christmas. By giving her an Airbnb gift card, you’re truly opening the world to her. Is there a more perfect gift than that?

Driving Gloves* | Driving gloves are rarely used these days, and the act of wearing them is a bit of a lost art. These would be a lovely gift along with a note detailing an upcoming surprise road trip.

Silk Headband* | This silk headband is a perfect example of form and function combining into something wonderful. Silk is gentle on hair, reducing the chances of breakage, and this one is beautiful enough to wear both around the house and out for an evening.

Raw Diamond Ring | There are certain destinations where it’s ill-advised to wear flashy jewelry in case of theft, but rather than going for a cheap imitation ring (which might still invite theft), I love the raw stone jewelry from this brand. The prices are more than reasonable for the raw stones contained within, yet she won’t have to worry about fingers turning green from cheap metals.

“Emergency” Kit | The name of this product is indeed a little cringe, but it has everything she might need for a long trip but might not think to bring along. None of us expect mishaps while traveling, so this set offers nice peace of mind, just in case.

Convertible Shirt Dress* | A convertible dress is ideal for a woman who prefers to travel with a small bag. This garment can be worn multiple ways – which leaves more available room for your light-packing friend.
