Greetings from Charlotte (and if you’re from the U.S., I hope you had a great Fourth of July)!

We’re currently sitting in a coffee shop waiting for our pour-overs, and it seems like a great time to pause and share this week’s links. It’s a shorter roundup since we left home Wednesday and have been enjoying our time in the Queen City and hanging out with old friends and making new ones, but here’s what caught my eye this week:

Travel

Andrea shares her experience of the airline losing her luggage. Thankfully her story has a happy ending (sorry for the spoiler!) but she also shares tips for what to do if this happens to you (link no longer available).

Something to listen to on your next flight: Pilots answer your burning questions about flying.

Four people, one suitcase.

This might make for an… enlightening day trip.

Life & Home

While I don’t agree with the practice of expected tipping (I believe service industry workers should earn a fair wage outright), I still do it. Apparently, though, the rest of my generation doesn’t (link no longer available).

I need to put some of these tips to use.

Does it matter what (or who) your partner “likes” on Instagram?

Food

How to cut a watermelon.

Hmm… I’m not sure how accurate these Gelato Horoscopes are, because I think I should definitely be a Leo.

Though we’ve eaten there, this is some next-level stuff.

I can relate to this pre-teen rite of passage.

I endorse this message.

Style

Digging Girlfriend Collective’s new collection.

Sale Alert! July 4th may have passed, but there are still a few discounts available for a limited time: ABLE is offering an extra 15% off all sale items with code CELEBRATE sale ended, but you can always save 15% with code WAYWARD15. The Eileen Fisher sale continues through tomorrow, with up to 60% off select items. Swedish Stockings has a few items marked down through tomorrow as well, including my favorite tights. And, of course, Madewell is always in on the sale action.

Things I bought this week

Nothing – and it feels good. We’re anticipating some life changes (positive ones!) in the next season, and I’ll probably focus a bit more on spending less and downsizing more in the coming months.

If you’re from the U.S., did you do anything exciting for the Fourth? Did you have to work Friday, or did you turn the holiday into a four-day weekend?
