Italic Is a New Marketplace for Home and Away

Two images sourced from Italic

You may have heard of Italic – the brand that, well, isn’t really a brand. Maybe you have even browsed their website before, admiring their beautiful, minimal products that all noticeably lack a brand name or label (garment tags simply read, “MADE FOR ITALIC”). And maybe you even started filling a figurative shopping cart, only to be dissuaded by the required membership fee.

This post is sponsored and contains affiliate links; I may be compensated by the brand if you make a purchase after clicking on my links - at no additional cost to you. Prices listed were valid at the time of publication, but are subject to change. All images are from Italic, but all thoughts and opinions are my own. As always, any products shared are ones I have or would purchase.

Thankfully for those of us who value quality goods at a reasonable price – and a supply chain that isn’t harmful to any of its links – Italic is now operating under a marketplace model, with no membership required. Instead of relying on revenue from charging membership fees while operating at a loss on sales of physical products, Italic is now at a place where the volume of purchases is enough to sustain the business alone (although, Italic still offers an optional membership plan, Italic Bold, which ultimately pays for itself and then some). Because there’s no “middle man” between Italic and their diverse network of manufacturers, they are able to pay their suppliers fairly for the product. And that network of independent manufacturers includes the same ones behind some of your favorite luxury and lifestyle brands, such as Away, Frette, Lululemon, and Prada.

Today I’m rounding up my current picks from Italic – both for now (at home) and later (travel) – and if you don’t see something you like here today (but let’s face it, you probably will!), Italic’s business model allows for customer feedback at the beginning of the sourcing stage: you can request a product if you feel something is missing. How incredible is that? I’m already dreaming of garments with lots of inner pockets, but for now here are my current faves.

ITALIC PICKS FOR HOME

A collage of nine home items from Italic
Top Row: Leather Carry-All Tote* | 7-Piece Non-Stick Ceramic Cookware Set* | Clay Mask*
Middle Row: Gold Huggie Earrings* | Cashmere Oversized Hoodie* | Meditation Cushion
Bottom Row: Cashmere Throw | The Original Soy Candle | Leather Mule Loafer*

My home picks lean into the things we’ve all been trying (and sometimes failing) to embrace this past year: self-care in the form of skincare and wellness, feeling cozy yet stylish, curating a home that feels organized and welcoming, cooking as an act of curiosity, and reducing the ever-crushing decision fatigue of deciding what to wear from our head to our toes. Even as we start to venture out into a new world, I think we’ll never look at our home lives the same way again. It’s vital to create spaces that are restorative and healing.

ITALIC PICKS FOR TRAVEL

Bottom Row: Collapsible Travel Umbrella* | Hard Shell Mini Suitcase | Travel Pet Carrier

Shopping for travel-related items is always enjoyable; it allows us the chance to daydream and imagine ourselves in far-flung places. I like to close my eyes and picture myself using something before I buy it to make sure it feels like a good fit. Before checking out, I’ll envision how a product might enhance my travel experience, whether that’s helping to make it more seamless, or just adding a bit of luxury to my time away. Lately, I’ve been dreaming of exploring wellness opportunities via travel, and I’ve been embracing comfort and ease. I try to be prepared, stay organized, and not overpack – while still allowing for a bit of fun. And of course, one day I’d love to be able to travel with my sweet best friend!

FINAL THOUGHTS ON ITALIC

Since writing this post, I’ve placed several Italic orders – for clothing, home, and accessories – and have been pleasantly surprised with all of them (head here for an accessories review). However, I’ve noticed that prices across the site have crept higher and higher. Some items are still a great value, while others may be sourced elsewhere for less. In any case, if you decide to place your first Italic order, you can save 15% with my referral link (I’ll also receive 15% off my next purchase). Thanks for supporting the brands that support this blog!
